Christmas Swirl ( Nov 7th ) Skipping Stones Design

Hi everyone, hope all is well in the crafting world. Today I have completed a card using the Christmas Swirl stamp. This stamp set is so cute and the only colors i used was for the back ground on the card and the sentiment. I did something a little different with this card. I tried to use more than one stamped sentiment out of the pack. I used one of the main sentiment ( May this season bring you peace joy and laughter ) and I also used the Joy and Peace. So lets take a look.

Now I could have done the whole background with the Joy & Peace but I wanted to give it a different look with just a half corner done with it. This way I think everything is in the spot light . The little bird was just toooooo pretty to have the busy words behind it.

I used a white card stock card base and stamped the Joy and Peace on one corner.

I than took a Ranger blending tool and laid down some Watermelon color ink. I did not want the color to over power the card so I did the Watermelon to give a washed out look.

With the bird I used Ranger Perfect medium and Rainbow embossing powder and heat with your heat gun. Gives it just a little shine and glitter.

I took the sentiment and Ranger blending tool and gave it a little color of Mint Macaroon or you could use any kind of light green.

I added some white and gold string, than put the bird up in the other corner and gave the card a couple of red dots.


I love it very nice and not to busy.

"Hebrews" Coffee Card ( Skipping Stones Design ) Oct 16th Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to Skipping Stones Design's October blog hop. For my card I have decided to use the Coffee stamp #2 . I colored the coffee cup with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers . This is a Digi stamp so after printing I did wait 24hr before coloring with the Alcohol markers to make sure the ink is completely dry, so I do not have any mixing of the printer ink with the alcohol marker colors. Tips for sewing Apple Core Shapes..... This will go on Sale on HSN January 24th., they will go fast make sure you get yours. 1st you will have one that will go sideways which is the Con-Caved Core and you will have one the will be long ways. You always want the con-caved Apple Core on top when sewing together. So my Con-caved apple core is the red strips, fold in half and press a seam. The yellow one fold in half long ways and press. Put right sides together and place the pressed seam on top one an other and pin. This is very important to sew straight. Now match up and pin both outside corners. The fabric will be buckled like the picture and that is fine. It should look like this when taking to the sewing machine. Below is a little video on sewing Apple Core Shapes.
