Pin Cushion ( Crafter's Companion Threaders ) Fabric

Hi again everyone....Ok, so here is the instructional on the Pin cushion that I talked about that is so fast and easy.

Material List:
Gemini Check out on HSN September 29th
Crafter's Companion Circle Nesting Dies Check out on HSN September 29th
Crafter's Companion Home Grown, Cottontail, Polka Dot fabric Check out on HSN September 29th
Crafter's Companion Construction Card Stock
Glass jar with screw off lids
Hot Glue and Glue Gun
Washi Tape

This is the Threaders Metal Die Set Nesting Circles, I used the biggest circle to cut the fabric.

Used the smallest for the Cardboard bottom.

Crafter's Companion Construction Card stock.
This is the Polka Dot and Cotton Tail fabric that I used for the pin cushion itself.

The yellow fabric on the bottom is from the Home Grown Fat quarters sorry I did not get a better photo than this.

To start iron all your fabric.  Take your biggest die in the set and send it in you Gemini, cut all at the same time, this machine will get the job done.

Hand sewing these are very easy.  Thread a needle with sturdy 100-percent-cotton thread and knot the end. Take small, evenly spaced running stitches near the top edge all the way around the circle. Bigger stitches will allow the fabric to gather more.

End your stitching just next to the starting point; don't knot or cut the thread. Gently pull the thread end to gather the edge until it forms a gathered circle. The right side of the fabric will develop soft pleats as you gather the edge.

At the stuffing to the circle.

Add the circle card stock in the center of the yo-yo. Take your thread and pull until completely gathered.  Take a small stitch to hold the gathers in place, then knot your thread and cut off the end.
Take the lid to the glass jar and add the hot glue all over the top, add the cushion.  Take washi tap or ribbon and hot glue to the side of the lid.

Remember to watch HSN Friday September 29th for the debut of Crafter's Companion Threader Line.  They will have the Gemini with a bundle, the fabric and the dies, so make sure you tune in.

As always, if you have any questions please let me know and Happy Crafting....

"Hebrews" Coffee Card ( Skipping Stones Design ) Oct 16th Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to Skipping Stones Design's October blog hop.  For my card I have decided to use the Coffee stamp #2 .  I colored the coffee cup with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers .  This is a Digi stamp so after printing I did wait 24hr before coloring with the Alcohol markers to make sure the ink is completely dry, so I do not have any mixing of the printer ink with the alcohol marker colors.  I had a great time creating this card.  Please scroll down for pictures, supplies (  link's ),  a how toooooo, and a tutorial at the end.  Make sure you visit the links below to see other cards made by Skipping Stones Design Team.  Please make sure to leave a comments on everyones creations, let them know how much you like the designs they have created. The cup stamp is  coffee stamp #2 it is Colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers.   Cut White card stock to 4 1/2 x 5 and Decorative Card stock to 4 1/4 x 7 7/8  inches. Add some silver Sparkle Tape

Working with the Gemini Apple Core Dies

Tips for sewing Apple Core Shapes.....  This will go on Sale on HSN January 24th., they will go fast make sure you get yours. 1st you will have one that will go sideways which is the Con-Caved Core and you will have one the will be long ways.   You always want the con-caved Apple Core on top when sewing together.   So my Con-caved apple core is the red strips, fold in half  and press a seam.  The yellow one fold in half long ways and press. Put right sides together and place the pressed seam on top one an other and pin.  This is very important to sew straight. Now match up and pin both outside corners.  The fabric will be buckled like the picture and that is fine.   It should look like this when taking to the sewing machine.  Below is a little video on sewing Apple Core Shapes.
